A native New Yorker, Dr. Chapman is a board certified fellowship
trained Orthopaedic Surgeon, specializing in Adult Reconstructive
Foot & Ankle surgery. Dr. Chapman received his undergraduate
degree at The Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore,
Maryland.
Dr. Chapman then earned his medical degree
from the Columbia University College of Physicians &
Surgeons in New York City. He then completed a
fellowship
in Orthopaedic Trauma Research at Columbia University
followed by orthopaedic
residency training at the
Columbia-Presbyterian Medical Center. During a prestigious Foot & Ankle fellowship with Roger A. Mann, M.D., Dr. Chapman gained expertise in surgical and non-operative treatment of forefoot deformities including bunions and hammertoes, foot and ankle trauma and sports medicine, arthritis surgery, ankle arthroscopy, ankle replacement, and problems related to the diabetic foot. Before starting his practice in New York, Dr. Chapman was on faculty at the University of Miami, Department of Orthopaedics, where he served as Chief of the Division of Foot & Ankle Surgery. As the only academic orthopaedic foot and ankle specialist in a metropolitan area of over 5 million people, Dr. Chapman was responsible for resident training, research, and providing care for patients with complex foot and ankle problems.
He is published in multiple orthopedic journals on topics such as orthopaedic trauma, arthroscopy, pediatric orthopaedics, shoulder and elbow surgery, as well as the foot and ankle. He has presented research at national and regional orthopaedic meetings and has given CME lectures on disorders of the foot and ankle.
